Paul Worthington ACA ACMA ATT CTA – Managing Director
Paul trained with a Practice in East Yorkshire after leaving university and then pursued a ten year career in travel becoming Finance Director for Skiworld Travel Group. In 1998 he was appointed Head of Finance for Europe and The Middle East for The Sportsworld Media Group PLC. By virtue of his vast experience in commerce his particular skill is the ability to provide practical business consultancy advice to clients to help them grow and develop their own businesses. Paul is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Management Accountant, Taxation Technician and Chartered Tax Adviser. He is also a member of the ICAEW Tax and Financial Reporting Faculty.
Emma Newnham FCCA CTA ACA – Client Services Director
Emma joined the Practice is September 2015 from Shaw Gibbs, a large Oxford Practice, where she was a director. She spent 12 years with them specialising in advising both individual clients and SME’s on taxation and accountancy. Emma is a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants as well as being a Chartered Tax Adviser.
Emma is Senior Partner and also Head of Legal Services for the Practice having passed her Probate exams in June 2016, as a result the Practice is now licenced by the ICAEW to carry out non contentious Probate work.
Chris Paterson FCCA ACA – Business Development Director
Chris joined the practice in 2017 and became a Partner in 2019. He qualified as a chartered certified accountant in 2015 and has a wide range of experience with clients across many different sectors. Chris enjoys working with start up businesses, particularly in the tech sector where he has specialist knowledge of R&D claims, SEIS/EIS investments and employee share schemes. He is currently on the final hurdle of his Chartered Tax Adviser qualification.
Patricia Rizan FCA - Associate
Following our successful merger in December 2018 we are delighted to have Patricia working with us as an Associate. She has worked for many years running her own Practice in Burghfield Common and has built up a diverse portfolio of private individuals and businesses to whom she has provided invaluable advice and expertise during this time.
Kirsty Cove ACA – Senior Practice Financial Accountant
Kirsty joined us in February 2019.She graduated at Cardiff University in 2012 with a degree in Accounting and Finance and afterwards commenced an ICAEW training contract qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2016. Kirsty specialises in Financial Reporting compliance and manages a diverse portfolio of clients, oversees our bookkeeping department and leads our client making tax digital (MTD) implementation programme.
Clare Jackson – Payroll Manager
Clare joined the Practice in September 2020. She has over 20 years’ experience in business, providing payroll and finance services most recently for Harringtons Payroll. In this role she managed the finance teams and administered payroll across more than ten sites to more than 200 employees weekly. Clare works Monday to Thursday.
Henry Lloyd MAAT ATT – Senior Account Manager
Henry joined the Practice in March 2013, he is a qualified Accounting Technician and member of the Association of Taxation Technicians. He is currently studying for his exams with the Chartered Institute of Taxation specialising in personal tax and owner managed business taxation. Henry has a portfolio of clients for whom he completes monthly management accounts and he also prepares annual accounts and individual tax returns.
Jalal Hussain MAAT – Senior Account Manager & Systems Accountant
Jalal joined the Practice in January 2015 and completed his AAT training gaining his MAAT qualification in summer 2017. He completed his Chartered Certified Accountancy (ACCA) qualification in December 2020. Jalal manages a diverse client portfolio and is our Specialist Systems Accountant by virtue of his extensive experience in cloud accounting packages such as Xero, Quickbooks, Sageone, Clearbooks and Kashflow.
Lola Dada ACCA – Senior Account Manager
Lola joined the Practice in July 2020. She spent five years working in banking before moving to Accountancy where she has worked for the past five years locally. She is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant and incidentally also has a degree in Microbiology. Lola has a large portfolio of clients that she helps with VAT, management accounts, annual accounts, corporate and personal tax.
Lauren Taylor MAAT – Account Manager
Following a successful work experience placement in February 2018, Lauren joined us full time in July 2018. She completed her AAT qualification at Reading College and is now a qualified Accounting Technician. Lauren manages her own portfolio of clients, helping with bookkeeping requirements, VAT returns, annual accounts preparation and tax. Lauren is now an ACCA apprentice having commenced her Applied Skills exam syllabus.
Sam Harvey MAAT – Account Manager
Sam joined us in January 2021 having trained for two years with a large ICAEW Practice in Oxfordshire. He completed his AAT qualification in December 2020 is a qualified Accounting Technician. Sam manages his own portfolio of clients, helping with bookkeeping requirements, VAT returns, annual accounts preparation and tax. Sam is also a Xero certified Adviser.
Tara Loft – Account Manager
Tara joined the Practice in October 19 as a trainee accountant. She is currently working towards her AAT qualification. Previously Tara has worked in finance roles in both the UK and Melbourne. Tara assists the payroll department as well as looking after her own portfolio of clients. She is involved in bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts and accounts preparation.
Susie Peat – Senior Bookkeeper
Susie has a wealth of accounting experience having worked in Finance for 3M, Dell, Moore Stephens and Vale & West. She is CIMA part qualified and joined us in September 2018 to head up our bookkeeping department. She looks after the regular bookkeeping assignments for a number of our clients.
Karen Hall – Senior Bookkeeper
Karen has worked for over 20 years in finance and office management with roles overseeing sales and purchase ledger functions as well as managing company HR and payroll. She has experience in multi-currency accounts, cashflow and management accounts. She is also an experienced Sage Line 50 and Xero user and manages her own portfolio of clients keeping all their accounts up to date.
Manpreet Bansal AATQB – Senior Bookkeeper
Manpreet joined the Practice in September 2019 after working in banking for 8 years. She has achieved her City and Guilds in Bookkeeping and her AAT advanced diploma in Bookkeeping. Manpreet is a Xero certified advisor and manages the bookkeeping for several of our clients.
Julie Newman – PA and Practice Manager
Julie joined the Practice in May 2016 to undertake the much needed role of Practice Manager. Julie acts as PA for the directors and ensures the smooth running of the Practice - in many cases she will be client's first point of contact. Since the Practice obtained its licence to carry out non contentious probate services, Julie acts as a valuable support to Emma in this area of the business.
Penny Foreman – Admin and Systems Support
Penny joined us in March 2020. She has an honours degree in IT and has many years’ experience working in IT support management and more recently in Early Years School administration. She works part-time helping Julie with the office administration and helps in managing our Practice Management software and IT systems.
Debbie Faris – Receptionist
Debbie joined us in January 2021 to take on the much needed task on managing our front of house, greeting clients and managing incoming calls and enquires as well as assisting with our office administration. Prior to joining us she spent six years with Earley Town Council and has a wealth of experience in office administration.
